People often ask me how Healing Hooves Sanctuary came to be.
Like many animal lovers, I’ve spent my whole life saying, “I wish I could save every animal in need.” Animals have always held a special place in my heart, and I dreamed of giving them the love and safety they deserved.
But as I grew from a little girl into the woman I am today, life brought many lessons. I experienced loss, trauma, heartbreak, and challenges that changed me. Through every difficult season, one thing remained constant animals.
Time and time again, the animals that entered my life helped me heal. Their quiet presence, unconditional love, and ability to simply be there brought me peace when I needed it most. They reminded me that healing doesn’t always come through words. Sometimes it comes through connection.
That’s when I realized something profound: the need to save animals was about more than rescuing them. Humans need animals just as much as animals need humans.
Not everyone has the opportunity, resources, or ability to experience that kind of connection on their own. And no one should be denied peace, comfort, or healing because of financial circumstances.
So Healing Hooves Sanctuary was born.
Our mission is to provide lifelong refuge for horses and animals in need while creating a peaceful place where people can reconnect with themselves through the healing presence of animals.
My hope is that this sanctuary becomes a safe haven for veterans struggling with PTSD, children and adults with autism, those battling depression, individuals overcoming addiction, and anyone carrying burdens that feel too heavy to bear alone.
I want this to be a place where people can slow down, breathe deeply, feel accepted, and rediscover hope before it’s too late.
Because sometimes healing doesn’t begin with words.
Sometimes healing begins with a horse, a gentle nuzzle, a quiet moment, and the reminder that we are never truly alone.
This is Healing Hooves Sanctuary—a place where both animals and humans are given a second chance to heal.
